CAESAR, which stands for Capillarity-based Experiment for Spatial Advanced Research, is a sounding-rocket experiment carried out by students of the HES-SO (University of Applied Sciences - Western Switzerland) within the REXUS program.
The team is based on the work of two Master students, David Strobino and Eric Zumbrunnen. They have been working since October 2011. In mid 2012, they gather another student, Caroline Ratzenberger, who worked on the scientific part of the experiment. They also received some help from their endorsing professor, Roberto Putzu, and his assistant Piero Pontelandolfo.
In May 2013, the team was at the launch campaign in the ESRANGE Space Center, near Kiruna in northern Sweden. Below is a picture of the team in front of the payload ready for the launch.
